How the data works

Methodology

Independence, sourcing, verification, and coverage, in the open

In brief

The Florida Atlas is independent and nonpartisan. Every record comes from official public sources and shows its citations. When something isn't confirmed yet, we say so instead of presenting it as final.

Seed slice: 65 verified profiles · 7 bills · 160 legislative districts scaffolded

Independence

Independent and nonpartisan

The Florida Atlas is an independent, nonpartisan data platform. It is not affiliated with any candidate, campaign, party, or government body.

Party is recorded only as a fact about a person or seat. We take no position on candidates, bills, or outcomes. The goal is a record that anyone, from any side, can rely on.

Sources

Official records first

The current seed slice draws primarily from:

Every profile, chamber, and bill page lists the specific sources behind its facts.

Verification

Verified vs. seed, always visible

Each record shows one of two states so you always know what you're looking at:

Source-verifiedConfirmed against an official or primary source cited on the record.
Seed data — pending verificationScaffolded but not yet source-confirmed. Shown so the gaps are visible, never guessed.
